The Parthenon at the Acropolis
Business Insider decided to conduct a poll among architects in order to find out the building that is considered the most beautiful one in the world.
The stunning temple of Parthenon located on the hill of the Acropolis was voted the most precious building ever.
Designed by the two architects Callicrates and Ictinus, the construction started during the 5th century BC with the help of Phidias, a most known sculptor. It was built in order to give thanks to Athena, the goddess of wisdom, who saved the city of Athens during the Persian Wars.
Today the Parthenon, standing majestically on the hill as it did thousands of years ago, attracts many travelers & forms the landmark of the Greek civilization!
